All about the cottage
SEACHT has been built, furnished and equipped to a very high standard.
THE ACCOMMODATION
Downstairs
The lounge is very spacious, measuring 23 feet by 23 feet and is triple-aspect with breath-taking panoramic views of Kilkieran Bay out of all six windows. The main feature is a beautiful granite fireplace with a wood-(or local peat-) burning stove . The tiled floor has under-floor heating and with ceiling heating too you will be cosy whatever the weather outside.
The dining room, which enjoys the sun in the morning, contains a dining table which seats up to 8 people. There is a walk-through into the kitchen.
The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric double oven and a separate induction hob, microwave, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. A separate utility room houses a washing machine and tumble-dryer.
The downstairs bedroom has a king size bed and is off the same corridor as the downstairs shower room. This means that by closing the door between the corridor and the lounge the shower room becomes en-suite.
The downstairs shower room is fully tiled and is reached along a corridor which leads from the lounge.
Upstairs
The master bedroom has a king size bed and has double-aspect views out over Kilkieran Bay. There is a walk-in "Velux" window which, when opened, gives a 180 degrees view of the Bay.
The master bedroom has a fully tiled shower room en-suite.
The second upstairs bedroom is also double aspect and has a king size bed and a single bed. It too has a walk-in "Velux" window which, when opened, gives a 180 degrees view of the Bay. The family bathroom is the room next door.
The family bathroom is for you if you would rather have a bath than a shower, although it does have a shower over the bath too. And the bath is a jacuzzi if you really want to pamper yourself!
THINGS TO DO AT THE COTTAGE
In Ireland if there's one thing that can't be guaranteed, particularly on the wild Atlantic Coast, it's unbroken sunshine. So we've made sure that even if it rains there is plenty to entertain you at the cottage....
In the lounge there is a 49" HD Smart satellite television which includes all of the major UK channels and a Netflix app. There is also a DVD/CD player - and a good choice of DVDs for you to choose from. And you could always take your own DVDs and CDs with you.
There is free Wifi if you want internet access for your laptop or tablet.
Here are a few other things that we have put in the cottage for you to enjoy:
- books to read
- jigsaw puzzles to do
- games to play
And if it doesn't rain and you don't want to stray too far from the cottage there are two adult bikes in the outbuilding for you to use. Or, if you want a less energetic way of getting some fresh air, a wooden table and chairs and other seating is provided outside on the decking so that you can sit outside with a good book or just enjoy the views with a coffee or a glass of wine.
